Dr Alkaitis Organic Replenishing Serum Review | A Natural Skin Balancer

Dr Alkaitis Organic Replenishing Serum

Dr Alkaitis Organic Replenishing Serum

Overall Performance: 9.5/10 (scored as a toner)

Price: £43.50

The Organic Replenishing Serum (or the Organic Herbal Toner in the US) is the first product I have tried from the Dr. Alkaitis range, and it certainly won’t be the last. Formulated as “raw health foods” for the skin, Dr. Alkaitis skincare products are 100% biologically active. This means that if you neglect your Dr. Alkaitis products for more than 12 months, it could potentially sprout legs and run away from home.

Just kidding. You are, however, advised to finish off a product within a year due to the living ingredients. I like to think of this as the raw food diet for your skin. Intrigued? Then read on!

Clarisonic Review | The Harsh Truth

Clarisonic Mia

Clarisonic Mia

Overall Performance: 5.5/10

Price: £125 for the Mia 2; £155 for the new Aria

I’m sure by now, everyone remotely interested in the beauty industry would have heard of the Clarisonic. Since the new Clarisonic Aria has just launched into the market, I felt that it is timely to write this post. From the low ratings above, I’m sure you can tell that the Clarisonic and I do not get on well.

The sad truth is – the Clarisonic is just way too harsh for my skin, especially for everyday use.

natural hangover remedies

Your night was a blur – snippets of your memories show you dancing on tables with uncontrollable limbs, another moment you were outside a club hollering “Its my eighteenth birthday!”, when you are really twenty-three. Then it all zooms in to a single point and you wake up the next morning with a splitting headache, hoping that last night was nothing but a bad dream.

I don’t have a cure to wipe away embarrassing memories, but I do have a trick or two up my sleeve for curing a bad does of hangover.

Ever since the appearance of Clarisonic, many different electronic facial brushes have been floating around the beauty market, hoping to be the next big thing. So when I found Foreo’s LUNA cleansing brush, I knew I had struck gold.

Green People Sun Lotion SPF 25 | A Daily Sunscreen Review

Green People SPF25 Sun Lotion

Green People SPF25 Sun Lotion

Overall Performance: 8/10

Price: £5 for 20ml;  £9.95 for 50ml

When it comes to SPF, there are two types of beauties out there. Those keen peepz who apply SPF every single day without fail, and those who prefer to skip on the sunscreen and let the skin produce Vit D naturally.

The clue is in the title of this post – I belong to the former category.

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil | A Rave Review

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil

Overall Performance: 8.5/10

Price: £20

Those who practice an all natural skincare regime would already be familiar with the benefits of using an oil on your skin. Contrary to popular beliefs, using an oil will not clog pores. Rather, it could reduce the over-production of oil which is often a result of the skin being too dry. If you, like me, are suffering from extremely dry skin but would occasionally get a shinny forehead – trust me, oils are now your new best friend.

Argentum Apothecary La Potion Infinie | An Honest Review

La Potion Infinie

La Potion Infinie

Overall Performance: 6/10

Price: £147

I am always a sucker for expensive, luxurious skincare. When I first came across Argentum Apothecary’s La Potion Infinie, I was basically salivating to get my paws on it, especially after reading all the rave reviews about it all over the web. It boasts a 99.5% nature derived ingredients – the star of the cream being Silver Hydrosol and DNA HP. La Potion Infinie promises a reduction of breakouts by regulating the skin’s flora, and an increase of the skin’s hydration by carrying 10,000 times its weight in water.

But I’m sad to say that, this cream is not for me.

The Beginning of a Green Revolution

It all started when I realised that my face has become extremely sensitive. I was prone to rashes that was red and blotchy and, no matter what I do, they just wouldn’t go away!

I thought this was strange as I was a skincare addict – I layered on around seven different products on my face every day and night. I would spend more than a hundred pounds for a product, given that they are well acclaimed and backed by thousands of positive reviews. The brands that I have tried include (but not limited to): Emma Hardie, Eve Lom, La Mer, Alpha-H, Paula’s Choice, Skinceuticals, Estee Lauder, Shu Uemura, Roc, doctor prescribed retinal,Biologique Recherche P50/ Pixi’s Glow Tonic etc.

At first I thought the culprit was in my everyday makeup. I decided to switch my concealer and powder to an all-natural alternative, and I chose RMS beauty. Using all-natural makeup for the first time felt wonderful on my skin. Their performance was even better than the Mac/ Laura Mercier products that I was used to. I was ecstatic – naturally, I did more research on the green beauty industry and found that most of the skincare products I was using was non-natural. Ingredients like Parabens, Propylene Glycol, and Urea are all chemicals that were found in my skincare routine, which could cause adverse reactions to the skin.

This is a chart that I always refer to when I do my skincare shopping:

Armed with new knowledge, I switched up my entire skincare and beauty cupboards to all-natural products. I have had so much great results that I have never looked back since. My face is now healthy, comfortable and well balanced.

This revelation was so pivoting that I wanted to share with the world the pure goodness of an all-natural lifestyle. Too little people are aware of the toxins we put on our faces on a daily basis. This blog aims to promote the beauty of going back to the basics, and to help new converters choose the right all-natural products for their skin.
