Hello Lovelies, welcome to my first ever monthly favourites post! This month I have stumbled upon quite a few little gems that have really stood out to me. Some of which you might already be familiar with, and some I’ve only started using recently (future review candidates? Maybe). Let’s begin!
Overall Performance: 9.5/10 (scored as a toner)
The Organic Replenishing Serum (or the Organic Herbal Toner in the US) is the first product I have tried from the Dr. Alkaitis range, and it certainly won’t be the last. Formulated as “raw health foods” for the skin, Dr. Alkaitis skincare products are 100% biologically active. This means that if you neglect your Dr. Alkaitis products for more than 12 months, it could potentially sprout legs and run away from home.
Just kidding. You are, however, advised to finish off a product within a year due to the living ingredients. I like to think of this as the raw food diet for your skin. Intrigued? Then read on!
Hi Lovelies, I’m very excited to tell you all that I have been nominated for another award! This time, it’s the Very Inspiring Blogger Award! I want to thank Amber from Amber’s Beauty Talk for the nomination. If you have time, do check out her amazing blog too! I’m a frequent reader of hers. 🙂
As a new blogger, you might not know much about me yet. This post will be such a great opportunity to have a little heart-to-heart with you guys! Let’s begin!
Overall Performance: 9/10
Developed by New York makeup sensation, Kirsten Kjaer Weis, through 8 years of extensive research, Kjaer Weis is a luxurious green beauty brand like no other. Her products are eco-friendly, organic and high performance. I have been coveting the KW range for quite some time now, and have finally decided to acquire the Trio Set as I am
indecisive keen to try out all of her products!
I have worn the three products altogether for several nights out, and I’m glad to say that the Kjaer Weis range truly lived up to its name. I now am a very happy bunny with three new staples in my makeup bag!
Overall Performance: 5.5/10
Price: £125 for the Mia 2; £155 for the new Aria
I’m sure by now, everyone remotely interested in the beauty industry would have heard of the Clarisonic. Since the new Clarisonic Aria has just launched into the market, I felt that it is timely to write this post. From the low ratings above, I’m sure you can tell that the Clarisonic and I do not get on well.
The sad truth is – the Clarisonic is just way too harsh for my skin, especially for everyday use.
So… I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award – yes, me! I’m over the moon. A big thanks to both Nic from OrgaNic Obsessions and Ellie from The Leo Beauty for nominating me. I’m so honoured to receive an award, and so excited to connect with other bloggers out there! Special hugs to Nic who have gone out of her way to make me feel welcomed in the green beauty community – thank you girly 🙂
Kimberly Sayer Moisturising Cream Performance: 6/10
Kimberly Sayer Ultra Light Moisturiser Performance: 8.5/10
Price: £25.80 each
The Kimberly Sayer SPFs have been on my radar for a long while. Given how highly rated they are in the green beauty community, I had high expectations. The Kimberly Sayer SPFs are mineral sunscreen and moisturiser in one. They are derived from all natural ingredients, and are suitable for even the most sensitive of skins.
As I have dry and dehydrated skin, I fully expected myself to love The Moisturising Cream. But now that I have had a good test of both products, you would be surprised at my verdict – I certainly was!
Your night was a blur – snippets of your memories show you dancing on tables with uncontrollable limbs, another moment you were outside a club hollering “Its my eighteenth birthday!”, when you are really twenty-three. Then it all zooms in to a single point and you wake up the next morning with a splitting headache, hoping that last night was nothing but a bad dream.
I don’t have a cure to wipe away embarrassing memories, but I do have a trick or two up my sleeve for curing a bad does of hangover.
Overall Performance: 9/10
Ever since the appearance of Clarisonic, many different electronic facial brushes have been floating around the beauty market, hoping to be the next big thing. I was an avid user of the Clarisonic for many years, until my skin suddenly grew sensitive and developed an allergic reaction to it. So when I found Foreo’s LUNA cleansing brush, I knew I had struck gold.
Overall Performance: 8/10
Price: £5 for 20ml; £9.95 for 50ml
When it comes to SPF, there are two types of beauties out there. Those keen peepz who apply SPF every single day without fail, and those who prefer to skip on the sunscreen and let the skin produce Vit D naturally.
The clue is in the title of this post – I belong to the former category.
