Those who practice an all natural skincare regime would already be familiar with the benefits of using an oil on your skin. Contrary to popular beliefs, using an oil will not clog pores. Rather, it could reduce the over-production of oil which is often a result of the skin being too dry. If you, like me, are suffering from extremely dry skin but would occasionally get a shinny forehead – trust me, oils are now your new best friend.
Rosehip Oil is the crème de la crème of all oils, especially if you have dry, sun damaged, or ageing skin. For those who are afraid to ditch their Retinol A or Roc cream for an all natural lifestyle, look no further! Rosehip oil is nature’s best source of tretinoin or all-trans retinoic acid, which is the acid that retinol converts to. Tretinoin is great for preventing premature ageing from sun damage. Furthermore, Rosehip oil also contains high levels of essential fatty acids, such as omega-3 and omega-6. Remember Perricone’s fishy, anti-inflammatory diet for acne-prone and mature skin? Why not slather the Omegas on your face instead?
Pai’s Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil is one of the best kept secrets of the green beauty world. Naturally, that meant that I was dying to get my hands on it. I already had a very high expectation for it before using it on my face – and lo and behold, it actually exceeded them.
The Pros:
The best thing about Pai’s Rosehip Oil is that it uses both the stem and seed of the Rosehip plant, whilst other conventional brands only extracts the oil from the seed. Hence, Pai’s oil have a much higher concentration, which maximises the plant’s aforementioned supreme properties. Unlike over-the-counter retinol, this oil won’t provoke irritations or dryness. And because it doesn’t cause the skin to react to the sun, Pai’s Rosehip Oil can be used in the morning as well.
I have been using this oil for around a month now, and only in the night. I find that my results with the Rosehip oil is not instantaneous, but after a week or two, I can clearly see an improvement with the overall complexion of my skin. My skin is usually dry in the morning, but after using the oil, my face feels supple and soft when I wake up. Truth be told, I think that this oil provides a similar result in comparison to the Roc Retinol cream I was using B.C. (Before Converting). As a twenty-three year old, I do not have any wrinkles as of yet and cannot be a judge of its anti-aging benefits. However, I do think that it has contributed hugely to the healing of the damaged skin and dry lines on my forehead, which was a result of the use of acne treatments in the past.
The oil itself is golden in colour and smells strongly of rosehip plant (as would be expected). Some might find the smell slightly too strong, but I personally find it relaxing, especially in the night time before bed.
The best part is that it costs a mere £20 for a bottle that could last a lifetime (or at least 6 months), what more could you ask for?
The Cons:
This product is definitely on the oily side. Even when rubbed and smoothed out over the skin, it still leaves a soft sheen that wouldn’t dissipate for at least an hour (photo). I have used this oil in the morning, but I find that I do not like the dewy finish it gives my makeup.
Whilst the Rosehip oil is very moisturising, I don’t find it suitable to be used as a moisturiser on its own (despite the oiliness). This could be due to the dry climate here in England. Nevertheless, the Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil is great as a pre-moisturising oil, and I find that it does boost the effectiveness of my moisturiser.

Would I repurchase this product? Definitely!
In fact, I think this one will probably be in my skincare cupboard for a long while – have any of you tried it yet?

So it can be used during summertime? Reading another review I encountered between the cons that it cannot be used if you have to go out in the sun later on..June has just begun and the sun is becoming hotter and hotter, but i am sooo tempted to try this product!
